The Power of Being a Responsible Project Team Member in Hospitality Design

In hospitality design, success rarely happens in a vacuum. Which is why we are focused on responsible partnership.

When a hotel, resort, or casino opens its doors after a major renovation or expansion, what guests see is beauty, function, and luxury. But what they don’t see is the deep coordination behind the scenes—the architecture, the procurement, the schedules, the logistics, and the teams working together to pull it all off.

At IGroup, we call that responsible partnership.

It’s not just a value. It’s our operating system. And it’s what allowed us to stand out within the industry for over 27 years.

Project Teams Built to Last

Since 1998, we’ve partnered with project teams on countless hotels and casinos on interior design, interior architecture, FF&E Design and FF&E Procurement & installation coordination new build & renovation work—everything from branded hotels such as Hilton, Doubletree, Marriott & Westin to highly designed spaces such as new build and expansions of Casino’s, Food & Beverage Outlets and Venues.

We weren’t just consultants. We were collaborators—part of a project team that included:

  • Architects of Record (AOR’s)
  • Lighting Consultants
  • Kitchen Designers
  • General Contractors
  • Landscape Architects
  • Civil Engineering Consultants
  • Construction Managers
  • Owners and Operations teams

That level of integration doesn’t just happen. It’s built on trust, open communication, and mutual accountability.

Designing Without Downtime

One of the biggest challenges in hospitality? Renovating a space while it’s still operating at full capacity.

Many of our hotels and casinos had sold out rooms during renovation. That meant no room for error, and no extended downtime to buffer delays.

So we leaned in hard on:

  • Construction phasing
  • After-hours work schedules
  • Real-time procurement coordination
  • On-the-ground responsiveness – this means we come to the field to work directly with the contractor to answer RFI’s & all other questions to save time and provide any work arounds to unforeseen field conditions.

It required clear deliverables and tight deadlines—and the discipline to meet them.

What Being a Responsible Project Team Partner Really Means to IGroup Design

For us, being a  responsible project team member means:

Showing up early in the process

Staying aligned through changing scopes and budgets

Communicating with clarity—even when the answer isn’t easy

Protecting both the design intent and the owner’s priorities

It’s about solving the puzzle together, not just handing off drawings and walking away.

Lessons Learned from a Legacy Project

Over 27 years and projects across the country, we’ve learned: the most successful hospitality projects don’t come down to the biggest budget or the boldest concept.

They come down to:

  • A strong, accountable team
  • A shared vision
  • And the discipline to keep promises

That’s the kind of partnership we aim to build—project after project, client after client.
